Cleaning | Care

Cleaning and care
  • To preserve fabric color and appearance, we recommend regular vacuuming, preferably every week, with a soft vacuum accessory.
  • A golden rule: always remove a spot as quickly as possible – before it penetrates into the fibers.
  • Most spots can be removed with lukewarm water, with or without the addition of a pH-neutral dishwashing detergent. Use clean water without soap for the last rinse.
  • Use a clean white cotton cloth. Never rub hard to remove a spot.
  • Do not soak the area. This can damage the material under the fabric. Press a dry towel or piece of plain white kitchen paper towel against the fabric each time liquid is added to absorb moisture and impurities.
  • If the spot does not disappear using water and a neutral detergent, follow the instructions in the Gabriel Guide to Spots. Use only the cleaning methods specified in the spot guide. Use only small quantities of cleaning agent at a time. Warning: Benzene, acetone etc. can dissolve foam on soaking.
  • To disinfect, wash at minimum 165°F (74°C) or wipe with ethanol (ethyl alcohol). Note: Even though the fabric can withstand soaking and high heat, the underlying foam and padding in upholstered furniture cannot.
